Christine Tatum is a veteran writer and editor who has worked for the Chicago Tribune, The Denver Post, the (Arlington Heights, Ill.) Daily Herald and the (Greensboro, N.C.) News & Record. She was among the first journalists to work simultaneously in print, broadcast and online media via the Tribune Co.’s Website and cable television station.

Ms. Tatum’s reporting on business and technology has won honors from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Colorado chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.

In 2006, Ms. Tatum was elected national president of the Society of Professional Journalists , one of the nation’s largest and oldest journalism-advocacy organizations with nearly 10,000 members and a multimillion-dollar budget. Her travels to newsrooms across the United States inspired her vision of a 21st century news service that could provide highly customized news and market intelligence on demand.

She went on to serve as editor-in-chief of a Beltway-based online service that delivers news summaries to Fortune 500 companies, congressional committees, White House officials and high-profile nonprofit organizations.

As CEO and president of Media Salad, Ms. Tatum is building a new organization to produce insightful, professional reporting and powerful, flexible technology that cuts through media clutter to meet specific subscriber needs.

Ms. Tatum speaks on the newsgathering process to media organizations, civic groups and students nationwide, and remains a passionate advocate for the improvement and protection of journalism. She lives in Denver with her husband and their two children.
